Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek residents will be able to raise or lower the current $ 100 maximum stake that is in effect at 33 Colorado casinos. According to a report from the Denver Post, the initiative will also let cities use the tax revenue generated from gambling revenue for local colleges.
The measure passed with nearly 60 percent of the vote and changed the state constitution to allow cities to take control of casinos.
Proponents of gambling in the state collected more than 200,000 signatures last July to get into trouble this election cycle. It has the backing of former Colorado Senate President Bill Cadman and former Cripple Creek Mayor Bruce Brown.
“We appreciate that the Coloradans support our city’s right to define our future so we can increase economic opportunities for the people who work and live here,” Brown told the Post. “Things won’t change overnight, but I’m sure this will help us get back on our feet.”
With the current rules surrounding maximum stakes, pencetpoker Colorado rooms can’t spread the true unlimited cash game. Most of these are technically considered spread limit games with a maximum stake of $ 100.
