From a mathematical perspective, each game should be as easy to analyze as Three Card Poker. This is one of the few table games where we can play every possible hand combination, even for the base game and not just for the sidebet. In Three Card Poker, players are dealt three cards from a 52-card hand. There are 22,100 possible hand combinations that players can get. In mathematical terms, this is called “52 choosing 3”. In English this means how many different ways three items can take out of a total of 52 items where ordering is not a problem.
After the player takes his hand, the dealer now receives three cards out of the remaining 49 cards. It will be “49 choose 3” or 18,424. It does not matter if a player’s cards are dealt first or last, or even if the cards are dealt alternately between the player and the dealer. In the end, the total number of player / dealer combinations was 22,100 times 18,424, or 407,170,400. It may seem like many hands visit wilayahpoker. But for today’s computers, all of these hands can be analyzed in about an hour.
For those of you unfamiliar with Three Card Poker, let’s go over the basic rules. The player makes an initial bet, called Ante. He and the dealer are dealt three cards each face down. The player checks his hands and can fold, lose the ante, or have the player bet the same as the ante. Assuming he is playing, the dealer reveals his hand. If the dealer has less than Queen High, Ante receives the same money and the Play bet encourages.
If the dealer has a high queen or better, the hand “qualifies” and the player will win the same money on both bets if his hand beats the dealer. Or you will lose both bets if the dealer’s hand exceeds the player’s hand.
So when does a player want to play vs. fold? If you fold, you lose the bet, which we will call “a unit.” If you play, you will bet two units in total (Ante and Play), but will have a chance to win a share. If the dealer does not qualify, he will recover a total of three units.
If the dealer meets the conditions and the player wins, he will recover four units. If the dealer meets the conditions and the player loses, he will win zero units. Therefore, the player must expect to recover at least one unit on average to make his total loss of 1 unit or less. This will do better than folding.
